Meet JJ Ruscella
Founder & CEO, XR Lab Architect, Immersive Learning Strategist
J.J. Ruscella is a nationally recognized pioneer in immersive experience design, known for uniting technology, storytelling, and simulation to shape the future of learning. With over 25 years of experience, he has been a thought leader for the U.S. military and Department of Homeland Security, founded the nation’s first undergraduate programs in Virtual Reality Design, and authored a widely adopted immersive training taxonomy.
As the founding director of the Shenandoah Center for Immersive Learning (SCiL), Ruscella continues to lead the development of immersive labs nationwide. His award-winning work spans government, industry, and academia—leveraging collaboration and narrative to drive innovation and impact.
