A National Network of Immersive Labs
The 100 Immersive Learning Lab Initiative is a multi-year effort to establish a national network of institutions capable of producing scalable immersive learning, simulation, and XR-enabled workforce training.
The initiative begins with 10 Foundational Labs and scales to 100 institutional labs to create shared standards, reusable content, and a distributed production ecosystem supporting higher education, workforce development, and industry collaboration.
Why This Initiative Matters
Immersive learning is transforming education, workforce training, and experiential instruction. Yet most institutions lack a repeatable, scalable model for deploying immersive labs and producing meaningful learning experiences.
The Founding 10 Labs will define that model — establishing the foundation to scale to a national network of 100 immersive learning labs.

We are now selecting 10 Foundational Institutions to launch the first immersive learning labs and shape the model that will expand to 100 universities nationwide.
Launch a fully operational immersive learning lab this summer — with structure, curriculum, infrastructure guidance, and national collaboration built in.
Participation Cost: $25,000
Participating institutions will stand up an operational immersive learning lab in 6 weeks, produce deployable learning experiences, and establish a scalable model for immersive education, workforce training, and future revenue generation, over the following year.
Program Facilitation — $19,000
Participating institutions will stand up an operational immersive learning lab in 6 weeks, produce deployable learning experiences, and establish a scalable model for immersive education, workforce training, and future revenue generation, over the following year.
NEXTWave Network — $6,000
Provides access to shared curriculum, lessons, competitions, resources, and ongoing collaboration across participating institutions, Government and industry experts.
Student Workforce Funding
Institutions fund their own student team (typically 3–6 students), who serve as the immersive production workforce during the pilot.
